PCGS Suspends Economy Tier Submissions

PCGS has announced a temporary suspension of Economy tier submissions while addressing a backlog that has pushed turnaround times beyond eight weeks.

Standard and Express tiers remain unaffected. The company expects to resume Economy submissions by March 1st.

What Collectors Should Know

Submissions already in the queue will be processed normally. New Economy submissions should be held until the service reopens.

NGC has not announced similar restrictions, though their economy turnaround has also increased to approximately six weeks.

Both services experienced record submission volumes in late 2024, driven by increased collector activity and strong precious metal prices.

Dealers recommend prioritizing high-value coins for grading during this period and holding routine submissions until backlogs clear.
