2025 Silver Maple Leaf Gets Security Upgrade

The Royal Canadian Mint has unveiled its 2025 silver maple leaf design featuring enhanced security features, marking a significant upgrade to one of the world’s most popular bullion coins.

The new design includes micro-engraved radial lines and a revised privy mark that changes appearance when tilted under light. Collectors can expect the coins to hit dealer inventories by mid-February.

What Changed

The 2025 edition maintains the iconic maple leaf reverse but adds subtle security improvements visible only under magnification. The obverse features the updated King Charles III effigy that debuted in 2024.

Premiums are expected to remain stable at current levels. Dealers report strong pre-order activity from both collectors and stackers.

The mint will continue producing the 1 oz .9999 fine silver version alongside fractional sizes.
